Reflection on audience
feedback (Task7)
“Where will we be able to buy your
magazine?”
When I
presented my pitch, I was asked a few questions. One of the questions I asked was “Where will
we be able to buy your magazine?” I said I will be selling my magazine in
stores which I will still be doing, however I said that I will not be having an
e-zine version of this. I have changed my mind about this because I done some
research of rock magazines and many of them had online versions. I feel that
having an e-zine will benefit myself and the people buying my magazine, because
people will be able to access my magazine on an international basis. It will be
seen in many other countries, not just in the UK. It’s also beneficial because
some people subscribe online as it’s easier than going out to buy the
magazines. Furthermore, people would be able to subscribe to my magazine and
this would benefit them as they would get discounts and freebees which would
encourage them to keep on buying the magazine. This will mean that I will get
guaranteed customers on a weekly basis as they will be buying it regularly.
This will benefit myself and the customers at the same time.
“Is your magazine not
multi-cultural?”
Another
question I received from the audience was “Is your magazine not
multi-cultural?” My magazine is targeted at everyone and it is multi-cultural,
however I said it will be aimed at white people mainly because I found out from
my research of my case studies that rock magazines are aimed at white people
mainly. However, my magazine will be aimed at everyone because it makes my
magazine unique to other rock magazines.
“Why is your magazine so cheap?”
Furthermore,
someone asked me “Why is your magazine so cheap?” I don’t believe my magazine
is cheap. My magazine is going to be £1.99. I chose this price because when I
was doing research of rock magazines, the majority of magazines were priced
between £1.99-£2.50 mainly. I decided to make it £1.99 because I don’t want it
to be too expensive as it’s aimed at working class people not upper class, also
I want my customers to feel as if they are satisfied with the price of the
magazine. I am also using psychological pricing to make it seem cheaper than it
already is.
Overall, this feedback was very helpful to me as I have made a few changes to my magazine. For example, I have now decided to have an e-zine version of my magazine as well as a version that will be sold in shops. Furthermore, I have also made a subscription for my magazine which had made me think about how I would further my magazine and it was a good idea, which was very useful to me.
